Nesher was established in 1925 and successfully realized the vision of Theodor Herzl, who wrote in his book Altneuland, that “The plan for building a homeland for the Jewish people must take into consideration the founding of a Hebrew cement factory as well”. The company has since become a prominent force in Israeli industry with a history that is interwoven with that of the State of Israel.

The company’s main plant is located in Ramla and is one of the largest cement plants in the world, in terms of both production volumes and the use of advanced manufacturing technologies.The company operates an additional plant in the city of Nesher, which was its first plant and for which the entire city was named.
